Machine Translation for Humanitarian Efforts

Here at Jibbigo, we believe that language shouldn't be a barrier to humanitarian aid. We work with non-profit groups around the world, lending our technology to facilitate language translation between doctors, volunteers and those in need. As a diverse group of scientists and well travelled language enthusiasts, we are happy to extend our products to help make a positive difference. Humanitarian Exercises in Thailand

Jibbigo is an ongoing participant in an annual humanitarian effort in Thailand organized by the U.S. government and its allies. The exercise creates multi-national solutions for humanitarian challenges, as well as building interoperability and positive relations between participants from multiple countries. During these exercises, Jibbigo is used by U.S. physicians in order to communicate with Thai patients in rural areas. Haiti - Ongoing effort to build Creole - English language pair

While rebuilding efforts have been taking place after the earthquake disaster in Haiti in early 2010, there is still a long way to go before Haiti can be restored to a safe and healthy place to live and visit.  Jibbigo is working on producing a Creole-English language pair which will be donated to aid organizations.  Volunteers who can speak and read Haitian Creole (Kreyol) who live in the San Francisco Bay Area are requested to contact Jibbigo to set up an appointment for speech recording.  For more information, to arrange for transportation, or to set up an appointment, please email Miriam.martin@jibbigo.com.
